  • Everything happens in the Village. When most New Yorkers say that, they could be referring to one of three areas in lower Manhattan. On this epic food tour, you get a sense of the entire village from West to East, meeting locals and sampling food along the way with a local food expert by your side.

We start in the posh West Village where you'll wander through a maze of tree-lined streets right alongside historic brownstone homes. Here we visit a modern breakfast counter beloved by locals and trendsetters alike and taste some of the city's best pizza.

Next, we delve into Greenwich Village which has been home to everyone from Italian immigrants, NYC students, bohemian artists, political activists, and musicians from little known Bob Dylan to up and comer Taylor Swift. We touch upon many of these groups to find out how they eat, drink, and live. Visit sandwich shops beloved by local students, an old school Italian market, and the iconic Washington Square Park.

Finally, we make our way east into the East Village, which was once part of the Lower East Side, and you'll still find remnants of immigrant communities, including Little Germany, the Yiddish Rialto, and Ukrainian Village. This is also where avant garde artists and punk rockers spent their days and nights and today you can find some of the most cutting edge bakeries, cocktail bars, and exciting chef-driven restaurants.

You'll try 6-7 food and drink samples in all as we taste food and visit businesses that help tell the story of this iconic, food driven neighborhood where they do things a little bit differently.

  • We inquired about a private food tour in Greenwich Village with Brian. Before the tour, Brian got to know our group of eight—including four kids (yikes!). He learned that my son is a big basketball fan, and that my daughter and her friend are Swifties. We met up for what was supposed to be a three-hour food tour that turned into four because Brian goes above and beyond in every way. We sampled incredible bites like chopped cheese sandwiches, brigadieros, pork and chive dumplings, cannolis, and so much more. Brian made sure the kids were happy too—building in AC stops and sweet treats to beat the heat. But it wasn’t just a food tour—it was an experience. We met the owners of small, family-run shops, heard inspiring stories from local entrepreneurs, and even saw a four-generation pasta machine in action at a traditional Italian grocery. We found ourselves wishing Brian could tag along for the rest of our NYC adventures—he was that good. I can’t wait to go back and explore another neighborhood with him. Seriously, no one should visit New York without carving out a few hours for a small-group food tour with Brian. You’ll laugh, learn, eat ridiculously well, and leave feeling like you saw the city through the eyes of a local friend.

  • Second time on one of Brian's food tours, and it is always a great time! Brian led us through the full Village, starting in the West Village and working our way to the East Village/Alphabet City. Brian does a wonderful job weaving in history of the various neighborhoods, foods, and actual restaurants/establishments themselves. Incredibly knowledgeable and personable, couldn't recommend Brian enough for a NYC food tour!

  • Our 2nd time with Brian on a food tour and won’t be our last. Our tour covered the East Village, Greenwich Village and West Village. Brian is very knowledgeable about the area, is a great story teller and includes a great variety of tasty stops along the way. Three+ hours well spent.
