If you go to Paris, you gotta eat a croissant. In London, devour some fish and chips, but what are the classic iconic must-try dishes in New York City?
Pizza and bagels immediately come to mind, but they are not the only dishes that make this city what it is. On this three hour tour throughout some of the trendiest and most historic neighborhoods, we get a sense of the dishes that make New York so vibrant and delicious and discover why they are so associated with this city.
Start the morning with the ultimate New York breakfast at a local favorite and learn what makes New York bagels different than anywhere else (hint: it's not just the water). As we make our way through the East Village and the Lower East Side, we learn stories of the immigrant communities that first settled here and the artists (and now influencers) who continue to call this home.
Beat the crowds at the world-famous Katz's Deli and learn about Jewish deli culture and watch the circus that unfolds at this restaurant every single day, In Chinatown, be transported to another country where you get a taste of one of New Yorkers' favorite cheap eats: juicy dumplings.
We can't forget New York pizza and there's some of the city's best modern slices in the area around Little Italy. Other treats on this tour might include a chopped cheese sandwich, black and white cookies, street meat, smoked salmon, and more.
We'll end with one of the city's most iconic desserts that will leave you stuffed and satiated with all the classics that you can now check off your list saying you've eaten New York!

For the second year in a row, our family of six, with four teenage boys, asked for Brian to take us on another food tour, in a different borough of the city after touring Soho and LES, NYC last year. This year, at Brian's suggestion, we toured Brooklyn which did not disappoint! With several picky eaters in our group, Brian knew exactly where to take us and what foods to try. From Khinkali (Georgian dumplings) to smoked BBQ, with the history of Brooklyn and Dumbo sprinkled in between, we had another great tour and plan to do another next year. Thank you for another great tour and another good year of memories!

Brian is amazing! We had the good fortune of having Brian as our tour guide twice now. The highlight of both of our trips to New York was learning the incredible history and tasting the yummy goodies hand picked by Brian as we explored some of the best neighborhoods and the history that comes along with it we went to Brooklyn before, but had no idea what to look at or where to eat. Brian is able to take you through the neighborhood like a local friend wood while explaining all the great things you’re looking at and tasting. I cannot recommend him or this tour, highly enough.

I love a good food tour and have been on many. This was one of the best! Brian was so friendly, knowledgeable & just enjoyable to be around. As someone who lived in Brooklyn many years ago, every stop on the tour was new to me & the tasting samples were generous, varied & delicious! It was so much fun to rediscover my old neighborhood, hear Brian’s engaging stories & history, and find some great places that I’m looking forward to returning to again soon.
